About

She focuses mainly on merging techniques from improvisational and urban dance forms, and adapting them to the vertical dimension. Her creative processes often emphasize development through play and the unconscious. Lyre places great importance on the energy generated from her performances.

Growing up in a multicultural home with Belgian and Israeli influences in the complex and fascinating land of Israel exposed Lyre to a variety of challenging subjects from a young age. These experiences and diverse perspectives are reflected in her art, both consciously and unconsciously, and are brought to life on stage.

Introduced to gymnastics at the age of 5, Lyre has maintained a consistent and essential relationship with movement throughout her life. Discovering circus arts at the age of 21 provided an immediate answer to combining movement and art in her professional life. Through various encounters over the next two years, Lyre attended the circus department at Fontys Academy of the Arts. In the past three years, she had been invited to perform at various festivals around the Netherlands, such as ‘Oerol’ and ‘CIRCOLO,’ presenting both group performances and personal projects.

Lyre’s artistic vision and future works focuses on interdisciplinary collaborations, exploring techniques and expressions from various and ancient art forms. She believes that all knowledge about the body, expression, and performance already exists. Her mission is to explore, combine, and implement this knowledge across different art forms.

Lyre Zachor is an aerial silks and circus artist whose personal approach to aerial practice is merging ideas and practice forms from dance, aerial and movement practices. Circus, dance, movement, and music are Lyre’s gateways to the unseen magic surrounding us. In a world that has forgotten how to simply exist,

Lyre invites you to join her in discovering a portal to the present moment, to experience what it truly means to just BE. To let go, and just feel.
